Real-life View of Test Facility for Comprehensive Extreme Conditions
II. Main Contents
Project introduction: The test facility for comprehensive extreme conditions is designed to be the world's first comprehensive user test facility for extreme conditions, integrating extreme low temperatures, ultra-high pressures, strong magnetic fields and ultrafast light fields. It includes systems for generating extreme test conditions, systems for characterizing and measuring samples under extreme conditions, and systems that can support the development, upgrading, maintenance and operation of the above systems.
Upon completion, the facility will enhance China's comprehensive strength in basic and applied research in the physical sciences and related fields, and promote world-class research results in research directions such as the discovery of new high-temperature superconductors, breakthroughs in unconventional superconducting mechanisms, breakthroughs in the core technology of quantum computing, ultrafast control of physical properties, and the realization of real-time imaging of lattice vibrations.
The test facility for comprehensive extreme conditions consists of four platforms, namely, the platform for characterizing physical properties, the platform for quantum control, the platform for characterizing ultrafast dynamics, and the platform for technical support.
