Project introduction: The International Meridian Circle Program is a significant multilateral international science and technology cooperation programme initiated primarily by China. Its objective is to gain a deeper understanding of the laws governing geospatial disasters.
The program leverages the unique land-based closed 120°E+60°W meridian circle on the planet, based on the Meridian Project (Phases I and II), a significant national scientific and technological infrastructure in China. The program capitalises on the broadest detection range, the most monitoring elements and the strongest comprehensiveness, uniting countries and regions on the circle to develop collaborative monitoring capabilities that are multi-station, networked and interdisciplinary. This significantly enhances the ability to understand the Earth's space system.
The Headquarters of International Meridian Circle Program serves as the central hub for the Program, overseeing the management and operation of its four primary platforms. The headquarters provides research and test space, as well as supporting space for the International Meridian Circle headquarters, data centers, operation and control centers, training classrooms, and so on. It will also provide modern and convenient conditions for international cooperation and exchanges for national representatives, scientists, and relevant international science and technology organizations working in Huairou Science City.
