The international academic journal The Review of Mathematical Economics was officially launched recently. Led by the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA), the journal has CAS Foreign Member Shing-Tung Yau—internationally renowned mathematician and President of BIMSA—serving as Honorary Editor-in-Chief, and Research Fellow Fei LONG as Editor-in-Chief. It is published and distributed globally by International Press of Boston.

As a cutting-edge academic journal with a global outlook, The Review of Mathematical Economics features an international editorial board. Its members include renowned scholars from world-class universities and research institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Yale University, with the aim of building an international academic exchange platform across interdisciplinary fields.
Grounded in the pursuit of mathematical truth and economic understanding, The Review of Mathematical Economics is committed to building a solid bridge between mathematical applications and economic research. “Modern economics increasingly relies on mathematical tools, yet communication gaps often exist between the two disciplines. We hope that through this journal, the most cutting-edge mathematical discoveries can directly empower economic research and address real-world economic problems,” said a member of the journal’s management.
Mathematics plays a foundational role in scientific research, and comprehensive economic research requires solid mathematical underpinnings. Covering all research areas in economics, the journal seeks to maximize the innovative potential of interdisciplinary collaboration.
The inaugural issue features five outstanding papers, focusing on themes such as asset pricing based on nonlinear filtering and AI-assisted decision-making. These papers represent excellent research achievements at the intersection of applied mathematics and economics, fully demonstrating the journal’s innovative vision and academic caliber at the frontier of the field.

It is worth noting that BIMSA, which serves as the journal’s host institution, stands as a key component of the strategic sci-tech capacity of Huairou Science City.
“The journal demonstrates China’s global vision in basic and applied sciences, and helps elevate Huairou Science City into a ‘new hub’ for global frontier interdisciplinary studies. At the same time, Huairou Science City will serve as fertile ground for the journal’s development. Drawing on the rich scientific research resources of Huairou Science City, the journal will work closely with BIMSA to host high-level international academic conferences, integrate world-class academic resources, and publish world-class academic achievements,” said a member of the journal’s management.
The launch of The Review of Mathematical Economics not only provides leading scholars worldwide engaged in interdisciplinary research with an open, rational, and innovative world-class platform for exchanging ideas, challenging viewpoints, and sparking new insights, but also marks a highly strategic step for Chinese research institutions in advancing mathematical economics globally and gaining a stronger voice in frontier basic science. The journal is now officially open for submissions from scholars worldwide.
