On May 10, the Huairou Science City Administrative Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of Huairou District, together with the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Science and Technology Innovation and Development Center of CAS, the Institute of Physics, the Institute of High Energy Physics, and the Beijing Overseas Talent Center, jointly hosted the 2025 “Yanqi Journey for International Talent.” More than 60 international researchers and postdoctoral fellows from 14 CAS institutes in Beijing, representing countries including Russia, Egypt, the United States, Israel, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Japan, and France, visited Yanqi Lake International Convention Center and Huairou Science City to experience the natural beauty of Huairou.

The delegation of foreign experts toured the core island of Yanqi Lake, the main venue of the 2014 APEC summit and the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, where they experienced the unique charm of Yanqi Lake International Convention Center, blending culture with ecology. At Huairou Science City, they visited the Urban Living Room to gain deeper insight into its strategic positioning and development blueprint, and witnessed the silent grandeur of the High Energy Photon Source.

At the “Plant Dyeing Art Museum” in Bohai Town, the guests tried their hands at traditional tie-dye techniques, blending the precision of scientific research with the creativity of intangible cultural heritage. Beneath the Great Wall, colorful tie-dye works swayed gently in the breeze, creating a harmonious tableau alongside the diverse faces of the participants. At the close of the visit, many foreign experts remarked that the event had left them with wonderful memories.

The event aimed to build a platform for international talent exchange and to support the development of an open and innovative ecosystem in Huairou Science City. Going forward, we will continue to enhance services for international talent and develop the “International Community at Your Side” series of exchange activities, further strengthening the global influence of Yanqi Lake International Conference Resort and Huairou Science City.
