On the morning of October 30th, Huairou Park of Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was officially opened. Comprehensive Extreme Conditions Experimental Device, Material Genome Research Platform, and Clean Energy Materials Test Diagnosis and Research and Development Platform were the first batch to enter the scientific research state. Five research groups and nearly 150 scientific research personnel of the Institute of Physics settled in to carry out scientific research work. By the end of the year, there will be more than 200 researchers working here, marking new progress in the construction of Beijing Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center.

Fang Zhong, Director and Academician of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Dai Binbin, Secretary of District Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Labour Committee of Huairou Science City; Liu Jiugang, Chairman of district CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference); Peng Lifeng, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the District Party Committee; and leaders of the Department of Basics, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, the Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, and the Municipal Science &Technology Commission, participated in the opening ceremony.

On the same day, "Beijing National Research Center for Condensed Matter Physics" and "Outstanding Innovation Center for Condensed Matter Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences" were listed, and "Beijing Technology Instrument Research and Development Center of Institute of Physics" was unveiled.

In order to promote the construction of Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has actively arranged large scientific devices and scientific and technological research and development platforms in Huairou Science City. In May 2017, Beijing and Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the construction of Material Genomic Research Platform and Clean Energy Material Testing and Diagnosis and Research and Development Platform. The Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Huairou Science City company were the main construction subjects; in September of the same year, the construction of Comprehensive Extreme Condition Experimental Equipment(namely, "one device, two platforms"), a national major scientific and technological infrastructure with the Institute of Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences as its legal person, was started. Huairou Park of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is supported by "one device, two platforms", covers an area of 230 Mu with floor area of 118,000 square meters, which is located in the Starting Area of Huairou Science City.

The opening of the park is an important milestone in the construction of Beijing Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center, marking that "one device, two platforms" has taken the lead in scientific research. Huairou Park of the Institute of Physics, as an important part of the national research center of condensed matter physics in Beijing and the excellence innovation center of condensed matter physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, will rely on "one device, two platforms" to carry out frontier basic research and industrial core technology research and development in the fields of material science, new materials and new energy.
